Hyde Park, NY (10/27/10) – New York EdPAC, the statewide political action affiliate of Education Voters of New York, is the latest group to endorse Didi Barrett in her bid for State Senate in the 41st District.
The endorsement acknowledged Barrett’s strong support for public education.
“We are confident that you will continue to stand with us to ensure that every public school student in New York State can obtain an excellent education and the tools they need to succeed in the 21st Century,” said Glynda C. Carr, Executive Director of New York EdPAC.
“I am grateful to New York EdPAC for their support. Making sure our children and grandchildren are well-prepared for the future, and that our schools have the tools they need to do so, is one of my priorities,” said Barrett. “At the same time we need to get property taxes under control by finding a better way to fund our schools.”
Barrett is running against longtime incumbent Sen. Stephen Saland. She has received the endorsements of more than 30 different organizations.
The 41st District includes all of Columbia County and a major portion of Dutchess County.
