On Friday, local businessman and congressional candidate Scott Murphy called for stimulus money now for shovel ready projects, and green jobs in New York’s 20th congressional district to put people back to work. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the economy lost 651,000 jobs in February, and the unemployment rate surged to 8.1 percent, the highest level in 24 years.
