It’s Petition Time Again!

Thanks to all of you for a wonderful convention. We have a fantastic slate of candidates but they need our help. Please carry those petitions! And if you are a notary, or know of one, please let me know now; we need notaries to help get our candidates on the 3rd party lines. Also, tomorrow is the first day to OTB (Opportunity to Ballot). I sent an OTB Petition and Instruction Sheet to all town chairs; please contact your chair for more info.

Before the convention I gave a class on the petition process and holding a caucus. I want to thank all those who attended.  If you need more information, or would like assistance with your caucus, please do not hesitate to contact me or Fran Knapp; we will be glad to help.

It has come to my attention that there is confusion with judicial candidates. Judicial candidates cannot carry a petition for anyone other than themselves. If they are on a petition with other candidates, it is ok for them to carry that petition but they must not discuss the other   candidate(s).  In fact, a judicial candidate must never discuss politics, other candidates, or be included in a fundraiser with other candidates.  They should not have a fundraiser or ask for money themselves, but have it done on their behalf. For more information, please contact Dutchess County Democratic Lawyers Council President Gary Levine at 845-705-8245

Check out the upcoming events for our County Executive candidate Dan French and County Family Court Judge candidate Marco Caviglia! Please come out and show your support!

Lastly, it is not too late to find candidates! If you think of someone, call!

Thanks for all you do,

Elisa
